Deep breath, Ephemeroptera is going subscription
get in on the ground floor, where we shall remain together
Hello everyone,
After posting my essays and art for free here for several years, the time has come for me to launch paid subscriptions. I want to be able to continue offering up the work that so many of you deeply value. I want to continue hearing from you about how it lands with you, and what it means to you, and I am asking for your help.
Each essay I write, even if it takes only five minutes to read, represents many hours of thinking, drafting, and refining. The accompanying artwork adds still more time. It’s all work I love to do, but it is labor nonetheless. Subscriptions will give me some material support for those hours spent, and allow me to continue writing and creating art for you.
I know not everyone has the capacity to pay for my work, and if you cannot, I love you still. You will still be able to read my long form essays, which will continue to be posted on a roughly quarterly schedule. I will likely be posting some intermittent shorter works more often for free subscribers too. If you can’t commit to a paid subscription right now, you can certainly still help by spreading the word about my work and helping me build a readership.
If you have the means and interest to pay, the benefits of being a paid subscriber will be:
Weekly posts, especially of an experimental and exploratory nature
The ability to post comments and participate in a community of readers
Access to the full archive of all posts from the past several years
Founding members, who pledge an additional amount to support me, will receive a little piece of artwork in the mail (provided you give me your address. And then we can also be pen pals.)
I hope you will decide to support me and this venture. I have demonstrated that I am in this for the long haul, and I appreciate you for reading. I will most definitely appreciate your money also, so by all means, slam your fist down on that Upgrade to Paid button, my darlings!
Very exciting! Count me in.
